Church Setup and Ushering:
CHURCH SETUP FOR WOODS SERVICES
THERE ARE FIVE SIGNS TO PUT UP. They are stored in the vestry. Use tape or tacks (available in school supply closet) to post them on:
- church front door
- either side of the church’s sign on the street
- No Trespassing sign
- on the post by the lane that leads to the woods
THINGS TO TAKE TO THE WOODS:
- PADLOCK KEY for woods gate (kept in basket in the vestry)
- Word box, Word, two candlesticks, candle snuffer, matches
(Found in the rolling altar usually stored in the vestry. If
candlesticks or candles are lacking, you can find some in the
cupboard to the left of the chancel.)
Maybe don’t light candles when setting up. - red Worship Books (stored in labeled boxes in the vestry)
- minister’s kneeler (from the chancel)
- offertory basket and table
- two clickers for counting attendance (One clicker for children, one for adults. Adults are college age and above. Clickers are stored in usher cabinet on the wall near the piano at the back of the church.)
- ten chairs to set up at the back (more if needed for musicians)
- trash bags to sit on (rolls of bags can be found in the kitchen or the school supply closet)
- broom (from kitchen or school supply closet)
- flowers (if you or your family would like to provide some)
BE SURE TO RECORD DATA in the ATTENDANCE BOOK (which is stored in the usher cabinet).
